# Overview

> Use an invite in the browser, or open the same Chest in the app

Some people never install OurChest. They open the invite link, join with a name, and use the Chest on the web page. The same page can also hand the Chest to the app when the app is installed.

There is no email and no password on the browser join step. A name is enough.

## What you'll find here <a href="#what-youll-find-here" id="what-youll-find-here" />

* [Use a Chest in the browser](./join-and-view) covers joining, looking at files, and uploading one file.
* [Open a Chest in the app](./open-in-the-app) moves from that page into OurChest on the phone, and explains a link that has expired.

Joining inside the app, with the paste sheet or the scanner, is [Join a Chest](../people/join). The browser and the app are two ways into the same Chest.
