# Reconnect or disconnect

> Give a service access again, or stop saving new files there

A connected service can ask you to sign in again. You can also disconnect it. Disconnecting is the whole account. Turning off one Chest's switch is only that Chest.

## What does Reconnect needed mean? <a href="#reconnect-needed" id="reconnect-needed" />

The row says **Reconnect needed**. The sheet says **OurChest still needs access to Google Drive.** The name matches the service.

Tap **Reconnect** and sign in again. When it works, the row says **Connected** and saving can continue for Chests that are turned on.

If the sheet says **Waiting to finish sign-in**, tap **Finish sign-in**.

On a Chest, a service that needs access again shows **Reconnect** under its switch. Tap it to open the same sheet. The switch cannot be turned on until the service is connected again.

## How do I disconnect? <a href="#disconnect" id="disconnect" />

1. Open **Settings** and tap the service under **Connected storage**.
2. Tap **Disconnect**.
3. Confirm **Disconnect Google Drive?** Dropbox and OneDrive use their own names.

The confirmation says **OurChest stops saving new files there for every Chest. Files already there stay where they are.**

This removes the connection from your account. Every Chest stops saving new files to that service. To stop one Chest and leave the account connected, turn off that Chest's switch instead. See [Save a Chest there](./for-a-chest).

## What happens to files already saved there? <a href="#files-already-saved" id="files-already-saved" />

They stay in Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. OurChest does not delete them when you disconnect, and it does not delete them when you delete an item in the Chest.

You can still open those files in the service. New files from OurChest are not added there until you connect again and turn the Chest back on.
